That hub mounted to the spindle is very probably cast iron. Redrilling the hub may be ok, or some kind of spacer/adapter may work, but NOT welding. L. WebOct 19, 2016 · Welding an aluminum wheel. My nephew got a rock between his brake caliber and wheel and it poked a hole in the wheel and leaked the air out. I was wondering if that type of aluminum can be welded with a TIG welder. It's not really a strength issue just have to stop the leak. The aluminum wheel is on a 2014 GMC pickup.
